Michael Evans

Michael C. Evans, P.E. is a Senior Principal Engineer at POLY and was elected to the Board of Directors in December 2024. He graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1997 and joined POLY in 1998. Michael became a Principal in 2012 and co-manages the company’s Florida operations, where he leads a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, CAD technicians, engineering interns, inspectors, surveyors, and administrative staff. His role encompasses client relations, business development, engineering design, hydraulic modeling, and project management, with a focus on municipal and utility projects in the Florida Panhandle.

Michael’s extensive experience includes the hydraulic modeling and design of over 75 miles of large-diameter pipelines in Okaloosa County, FL, consolidating wastewater treatment systems and improving the distribution of potable and reclaimed water. He also spearheaded the design of the Okaloosa Island Water Booster Station Replacement, a project that enhanced capacity, energy efficiency, and resilience while minimizing community impact through innovative construction techniques.

Specializing in water and sewer system design, Michael has expertise in potable water production, gravity sewer and force main design, pump station development, and directional bore planning. He is proficient in navigating Federal, State, and Local permitting processes for water and wastewater projects. His contributions to community infrastructure include the design of over 6.5 miles of sidewalks in Niceville, FL, improving pedestrian safety and connectivity while enhancing traffic flow.

Michael is a registered professional engineer in Florida and Alabama and is certified as a Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector. His professional affiliations include the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Florida Engineering Society (FES). With over 27 years at POLY, Michael’s dedication to engineering excellence and community development underscores his leadership within the firm and the industry.
