Since the enactment by Congress of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) in 1976 there has been a continuing evolution in the requirements for the design and operation of landfills as well as corresponding waste collection and resource recycling. The management of solid waste and the siting of solid waste disposal facilities is often one of the most sensitive issues faced by local governing authorities. POLY has been involved in all facets of Solid Waste Management from the planning and establishment of Solid Waste Authorities to the design, permitting and construction management of both C & D landfills and Subtitle D Solid Waste facilities.
